Sparky

William's class has a class pet. Each week a child who has had a really good week gets to take Sparky home. Luckily Sparky is a stuffed dinosaur. We have to write a story about what we do with Sparky this weekend. So far he has come to dinner with us, slept in William's bed and came to the zoo today. (I felt pressure to get Sparky out of the house to do something fun.) William is so excited to have him with us this weekend!

2 Months Old!

It's hard to believe that Maren is 2 months old today. I am loving every second of having my baby girl! Here are two pics from today. The one with her smiling didn't really show how big she's getting. Her outfit is a little big, but thanks Meme-- it was perfect for our Halloween outing today! The last picture is her at one month old. I forgot to post that one.

Halloween Parade

William's school had a Halloween parade today. William was hesitant to wear his LSU football uniform to school, but as soon as he saw one of his friends in his Georgia Tech football uniform he couldn't wait to get out of the car! The owner of the school took these shots. The kids got to trick or treat with the seniors who visit each week.

Look Alike?

Since the day Maren was born we have been amazed by how much she looks like William. They make a lot of same faces and really do resemble each other an aweful lot. Curiosity got the best of me this week. I pulled out the same blanket I used to take pictures of William and took some shots of Maren. I still think they look a lot alike, but I can definitely see the differences.

Pumpkin Carving

I am waiting on pictures to post from our trip and my parents visit. Until then, here are a few of our jack-o-lantern. While Michael and I were out of town one of the things William did with his grandparents was pick out pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch. When we got home he had decorated them with stickers. He had picked 2 small pumpkins- one for him and one for Maren and 2 larger pumpkins- a Mommy pumpkin and a Daddy pumpkin. We could tell which one was the Daddy pumpkin because it was missing the stem, which meant it didn't have any hair like Michael.

Michael carved the pumpkin tonight and it came out awesome! William was so excited to have a Lightning McQueen jack-o-lantern. We still have one more pumpkin so there's more carving to come.

Girly Clothes

I have to admit that I am loving dressing Maren in girly clothes. Here are a few shots of her. Thanks Aunt Mel for the adorable dress. I obviously didn't catch her at best moment in this picture. I can't believe how big she's getting!

Pumpkin Patch and Waterfalls

Last weeked we took a drive about an hour away to Burt's Farm and Amicalola Falls. I was fairly delusional about the weather and made my family wear jeans. It's October for goodness sakes-- shouldn't it be cooler! It was very sunny and about 85 degrees so needless to say we were all sweating our tails off!
Besides that we all had a great time. We caravaned up there with the Dinsmore's, DeFusco's and Hillman's. Since we all have carseats we are forced to take separate cars and travel in a pack!
Burt's Farm has thousands of pumpkins of all sizes. William and Gracie had a great time playing with the gigantic pumpkins and the wheelbarrows. Here are some shots we got of the crew!

Here are a few shots from the Amicalola Falls. It's one of Georgia's most popular state parks. Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning "tumbling waters," is an appropriate name for these 729-foot falls ~~ the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. An 8.5 mile approach trail leads from the park to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,135-mile Appalachian Trail. It was a beautiful park and a gorgeous day!

Grandparents Visit - Round 3

My Mom and stepdad were the last set of grandparents to come help us. Again, we appreciated all the help! William had a great time. He is adjusting well to sharing his Grammy and Poppy with Maren and his cousin, Max. Here are some pictures while they were here.

Game Day

As most of you know, LSU game days are serious around our house. This was a big weekend for the Tigers and thank goodness they won or my Sunday would have been miserable. Michael took William with him to run errands that morning and William came home with a special treat. Here are a few shots of my little ones-- please note that they are both in purple.
