Birthday Weekend!

My Dad & stepmom came in town this weekend to celebrate William's birthday with us. We had a great time as usual!
Meme & Papaw came bearing gifts and they did a great job. William loves his new rocket ship!
Maren was getting in on the fun too!
Mrs. Mary took the house back out while she was here last weekend. She gave this to William when he was little and now Maren is enjoying it.
William convinced Papaw that he needed to clean out his wagon. Not only did the wagon get wet, but so did Will & Papaw (and anything/anyone else in his path).
As usual, Maren wanted to be outside with everyone, right in the middle of everything.
Meme got some good Maren "loving" in this weekend.

After getting all cleaned up William opened another birthday gift from Meme & Papaw. He got his own pair of binoculars. He insisted on going outside in his robe to use his new gift. We were all cracking up!
Michael stayed up late working on William's pirate ship cake. Here's the final product. William loved it!
PARTY TIME!
We had Will's party at an indoor play space that is pirate themed. It has a few inflatables, a huge sand box and wooden structure with bridges, forts, cannons and slides. The kids had a great time and wore themselves out!
William had a blast shooting the "cannons".

The adults shooting at the kids!

Iris & Maren-- everyone took turns keeping Mae occupied. She wanted to be right along with the big kids!

Just a little glimpse of the chaos that was lunch and cake time!

Look how excited William was...

This was our first party with friends from school. Ezra, Kylie, Kelsey and Thomas are in this shot. William was thrilled to have all of them there.

I love this shot because I swear this is how Maren spends most of her days. I am constantly kissing on her and we caught Meme doing the same thing. You just can't help it-- she's so happy and loveable!

Ezra and Iris were good sports and posed for our Pirate picture.

Maren on the other hand took a little convicing of how much fun it was to pose!

Thank you so much to everyone who came to the party. William had a great time.

His own pirate sword!

William also has a new love for Star Wars and Aunt Mel & Uncle Mike gave him a light saber for his birthday. He had several sword fights with Meme & Papaw. (They have the bruises to prove it.)

Happy Birthday William!

I told William I didn't think I wanted him to turn 4. I told him I just wanted him to stay little. He just grinned at me and said, "but Mommy, God says I have to grow up and get bigger." So begrudgingly I let it happen!

My Sweet Birthday Boy!

(Don't you love the bed head-- there is nothing I can do to fix it!)

We had a great time celebrating William's 4th birthday. He shared cake with his classmates and then we headed to the park. William got a new bike so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a ride at the park. He didn't last very long! He is still getting a hang of steering and slowing down and he had Michael push him up any incline.

William was so excited to have his Daddy & sister there with him.

He kept telling everyone, "My Daddy did this." (Over and over!)

Thank you Nana for the Birthday Pin.

It's nearly impossible to get a decent shot of the 4 of us-- this is about as close as it gets!

Ready to go on his new bike!

When we got to the park I realized that I had left my camera at home. I was so bummed, but then I realized I could use my phone. They're not the best, but pretty good for a phone.

Mae fell asleep and spent the whole time just like this-- sweet girl.

The Easter Bunny brought William a kite (from the dollar store). William was excited to bring it to the park. Once we got there he LET Michael put it together and fly it. He stood back and wanted to watch.

We finished the night with his dinner of choice, pancakes and another birthday cake with a serenade by Mom & Dad. (I know-- what a healthy day!)

A little brotherly love!

A big pirate ship!

Maren just loved getting into the paper.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY!
