Our Beach Vacation

About a year ago we started talking about a trip to the beach. The 5 Louisiana families who live here in Georgia wondered if we could all really spend a full week, togehter, all 19 of us, in one house??? Guess what, we did and it was a blast!! I think we all surprised ourselves. As you can imagine we took a ton of pictures. I think I have been paralized by the fear of how long it would take me to post all these pics, but I decided to just do it a little at a time and I'm FINALLY done! Enjoy...

The Tiki House
The back of the house!

We all searched the internet for houses that would fit all 5 families, have a pool and be close to the beach. We came up with 12 viable options. Everyone voted on their top 3 and majority ruled. When it came down to it we all agreed that this house looked like the best fit and it was awesome!!

Main living space-- den kitchen and eating area.

Another view

So here a goes with all the pics...they are kind of sort of in chronological order. We spent our days mostly at the pool and playing around the house. We played hard, laughed hard and tried to sleep hard-- what can we say we had 4 kids under 3 years old!

She couldn't figure out how to shoot it the right way.

Emjoying the pool!

Mason loves salsa!!

Here's a shot of the pool from the deck. This house was great because it had a full size pool. We definitely needed it!

The sun & swimming wore him out! I wish I could sleep that way.

The 3 Musketeers!
Mason, Maren & Jack
Maren loves to read books. If she can get you to sit long enough she'll have you reading her a book in no time.

Some silly time with Daddy!

Our first visit out to the beach. We waited until the afternoon when the sun was going down.

Be still my heart!

The DeFusco Boys

The Lipani Boys

I just love this sweet outfit. I figured this summer was probably the last time I can put her in a little bubble like this one.

My attempt at a self portrait with Mae.

Daddy's girl!

We braved the beach the next day. I think it took trips by the Dad's to get all the stuff out there! Maren kept her hat on for all of 10 minutes. We were all trying the best we could to keep them covered up!

Forget it, Mom!

My aweet smiley girl!!

I was sitting on the beach watching all the kids. I looked down and saw Jakob working on his fishing rod. I was shocked by how old he looked. I had to take this picture to show his Momma.

How many of us want to be here right about NOW!

Mel & Em in the water. Emily loved the water!

Gee, who was having more fun building sandcastles?

When a baby needs a nap Mrs. Heidi's arms are magic!

You'll never hear me say that a man can't change because the fact that my husband is letting someone bury him in sand says it all!

Pool time! Maren did not like the Gulf water, but she loved getting in the pool.

We all took turns helping the little ones stregthen their swimming skills.

This incident cracked us up. These two are sitting here drinking their juice boxes looking like an old married couple.
Then out of nowhere Emily has a meltdown. I kept snapping pictures and Mason kept sipping. I love this picture. He's looking at her wondering what is the world is going on.

When we're with the whole crew William is definitely outnumbered by all the girls. He & Michael took an afternoon and went to the Blue Angels museum to spend a little guy time together. Of course I sent the camera with them and I was quite impressed with the pics!

Come on Dad!

Self portrait!

Seriously, look at those eyes!

Our mornings were quite intersting. We had a hard time getting the little ones to sleep in most days. We tried to keep them as quiet as possible, but come on! This shot is from a Choo Choo Soul dance party in the Hillman's room.

These two are so funny together! They are going to give us a run for our money in the years to come!

Another day in the pool!

Mason & Heidi

What did I tell you-- if you sit still too long she'll have you reading a book!

THis is what happens when you get up VERY VERY EARLY and refuse to go back to sleep!

Mel & Jack

My guys!

Gracie is fearless!

Where's my snack?

Yes, I have horrible words for both of them since they are wearing bikinis post childbirth!

Here's Mason holding up his feeting waiting for Catrina to clean them off. Gee, I don't know whose child he is....

Yes, that's he Daddy feeding her her snack so she won't eat the sand on her hands.

The tent came in handy with the little ones.

Michael, Mike & Brian H in the water.

In between the whining what she's trying to say is-- get me out of the sand, I don't like the sand, the sand is all over me!

I just looked at her and took pictures-- hey, it's my vacation too!

Jackaroo

This little swim vest was awesome. Emily felt so comfortable in the water.

Aunt Mel trying to get Will to jump in without holding her hand---- at least she got him in the pool.

Will helping Emily out of the pool.

Here are our attempts to get family pics in the pool. Clearly some families have more success than others...

The DeFuscos

The Dinsmores

The Hillmans

The Johnsons
The Lipanis

We did really good with buying in large quantities and cooking and grilling, but of course one night we went for SEAFOOD! It was delicious and I had to take a picture these beautiful crabs!

Sweet boys!

A hammock of cuties!

Here's a shot of Will busting a move! I took a video of him while he was dancing but I'll save that for another day. The boy loves music & dancing!

I LOVE this picture!!!
Happy Birthday Mason!
We celebrated Mason's birthday on our last day at the beach. He was an adorable pirate!

Maren making sweet eyes at Jakob.

We had a wonderful trip full of amazing memories!!
