A Day Home with Mommy

William woke up not feeling well yesterday. Thankfully I took him to the doctor just in time to catch an ear infection. I didn't mind having him home with me in a cuddly mood! (Especially since next week will be such a whirlwind!)

He's just a little spoiled-- eating his treat and drinking juice (on the sofa) while watching Ice Age (usually a no-no). He was not happy that I was in his way while taking this picture-- as if he hasn't seen the movie 100 times!

After his medicine kicked in he was just fine! He actually asked to clean the floors! Michael showed him that we could make the swiffer shorter and he loves it!

The Good Sunglasses

William used to complain about the sun being in his eyes on the way to school so I offered him the spare of sunglasses that I keep in my car. He said, "No Mommy, I want your good sunglasses." He told me that I can wear the extra sunglasses. Now it's a regular thing in the morning and afternoon that he wears my sunglasses. He puts them on and is as serious as can be. I've had people in the cars next to me giggle when they see him wearing my glasses. I like to look back at him and chuckle myself!

Any Time Now!

Maren can officially come any time now! Her room is finished, so I'm ready-- NOW! Here are some pics of her room. Thanks to my wonderful hubby (and Ron) for a the beautiful job he did painting her room.

Emily's 1st Birthday

Last weekend was Emily's 1st birthday party. There are plenty of pics below to show how much fun we all had!
The night before the party we went over to help get everything ready. William and Lilly (Mel & Mike's niece) helped Uncle Mike make the cupcakes for the party! He was a brave soul. They really enjoyed themselves and got a treat out of it. William and Lilly were quick friends and played really well together.

The day of the party I was just about 38 weeks along so I took this picture with William. His time as an "only" is almost over! I'm trying to enjoy every second as much as I can.

Unlike my child, Emily prefers to have as little clothes on as possible. Mel also didn't want her birthday outfit to get dirty. As you can see Emily was in heaven eating lunch-- so were the puppies because she dumped her plate over more than once!

The Birthday Girl and her fabulous birthday cake (courtesy of her Dad)!

Emily enjoyed sharing all of her toys with everyone!

Mel & Mike had a kids wonderland set up outside! There were space walks and kiddie pools for everyone to burn off a little energy and stay cool!

BIRTHDAY CAKE TIME!

Can you tell by his shirt and face that this isn't the first piece of cake he had?

Mel's most stressful moment and toughest parenting trick to master--- how to manage a gang of toddlers at gift opening time! (Answer: Just give in to the chaos!)

Emily's favorite present-- her Elephant rocker. The picture is blurry because she wouldn't stay still once she sat on it!

My Boys!

Michael has taught William how to dunk his cookies in milk. Anytime he has cookies now he has to have his cup of milk to dunk. He's even happier when his Daddy is eating cookies with him! These are some pics of my guys eating their cookies tonight. I don't interfere-- it's their thing to do together and William couldn't be more tickled!

Baby Max

Aimee and Brad came over to visit tonight. We were so excited to visit with them and see Max. He is almost 2 months old and getting so big! He tested out Maren's swing and seemed quite content! William is getting plenty of practice for his little sister's arrival.

37 Weeks

These aren't the best pics of me, but here is a 37 week update. As you can see my belly and face are a bit bigger! We are getting ready for Maren's arrival! It's hard to believe that by the end of the month we'll have a newborn in the house.

My Silly Boy!

William is in such a silly age. He asked me to take these pictures of him making funny faces! We had some sweet moments too when her wanted to kiss my belly!

My Favortie Toy

Earlier in the week William had a note sent home saying that he could bring his favorite stuffed animal or toy to school today. When I first asked him what he wanted to take he immediatly told me, "my giraffe." I didn't know if he would change his mind as the week progressed, but it didn't and today he was so excited to take his giraffe to school. The giraffe was a Christmas gift from my Dad and it plays the song "Animal Crackers" (Shirley Temple). He can only sing along to part of it! The best part is that William broke the giraffe's neck a week after we got him so as he sings he moves his head back and forth and you hear this horrific snapping noise. Anyway, thanks Papaw for such a great gift that keeps giving and giving!

Is this wrong?

I just couldn't help myself. I had to post these pics. William had his 3 year old "happy" visit with his pediatrician today. They weighed him and measured him and then they handed us this little gown. He got down to his undies and put on this little paper gown. I wasn't quite sure which way the opening went--front or back? Anyway, he just looked so tiny! I took these pics on my phone so they're not that good. I also didn't want the nurse or doctor catch me taking pics and think I was nuts!
By the way, my little skinny minnie weighed in at 28.8 lbs. (11th percentile) and measures 37 1/2 inches.

Catch Up

It's been a while since I've added to the blog. I had to send my camera off to Canon to have it fixed. My mother-in-law happened to mention that her camera was giving her trouble. She found out that there had been a product alert and went online to get more info. She was able to send it back to Canon and they fixed it free of charge. I went online and found out that my model had the same issue and sent mine back too. It was the best experience-- Canon was so accomodating and easy to work with and I got my camera back really fast! Anyway, I'm just glad I got the camera back before Maren's arrival!

We have been working away getting ready for the baby. William is still on board and excited with the idea of having a baby sister. We'll see how things change when she's actually here! He was a very good big boy last week when I had a roller coaster of issues! For those of you I haven't spoken with I had a rough week that started with a busted knee & twisted ankle and ended with 2 root canal procedures! I was quite a sight as you can imagine. I am not hobbling around so bad now, but still not back to normal. (Does that even exist?)

I was anxious to use my camera again and get back to the blog so below are some pics from the weekend. There was an event in our neighborhood for kids on safety. We took William so he could see the firetruck and fireman. He got to climb on board and ring the bell and learn about where the hoses go and how they work. It was extremely hot so our next activity was indoors. We have been wanting to take William to a place where we can paint pottery. There's one close to the house so we headed there Saturday afternoon. We all worked on our own project. As you can see below William was very intent on painting his cup. He used his favorite color- red! Michael couldn't have him use just red because of course that would be too much like the University of Georgia colors! The inside of the cup is blue and Michael drew a big W on the side. Michael painted a (chip) bowl with LSU colors and I made something for Maren's room. We get to pick everything up on Friday so I'll post more pics when we pick it all up.

"Cheese!"-- This is the best I could get. He wouldn't take his eyes off of the cup.
