Let Me Help You

There isn't much that we can do around the house without William at our heels wanting to help. His favorite places to help are in the laundry room and in the kitchen. We are spending Thanksgiving at home, just the 3 of us. We made a cake on Wednesday night for our Thanksgiving dessert. William was right in the middle helping Daddy pour in the ingredients, holding the mixer and licking the bowl. He was very proud of himself!

Thanksgiving Lunch, Santa Visit and a Cookie heals all!

On Sunday we decided to go to Lenox Mall so William could ride the Pink Pig. The Pink Pig is an Atlanta tradition that is now owned by Macy's. Michael wasn't able to go with us last year so we wanted to go early this year. We got to the mall right at noon and the wait was already an hour and a half! We convinced William that going to get a cookie was a much better idea! We got him a giant cookie and he ate the whole thing! Our Pink Pig train ride is postponed until after Thanksgiving.

Today William's school had a Thanksgiving feast for the kids. The parents were invited to come to lunch. We couldn't make it for lunch, but we stopped by for a visit. The school's owners cooked all the turkeys! As usual Lisa (the owner) did a great job getting a picture of all of the families who were there.

William was none too thrilled that we came for lunch and then left without him. The promise was that we would pick him up early and go visit Santa. We went to the mall last weekend and saw Santa and William was very excited. Again, the line was really long so we decided to come back at an off time. We picked him up from school and hurried to the mall before Santa took his break to "feed the reindeer". We walked up and there was no line! He was so exicted. He sat all by himself as long as I knelt near by. Santa asked him all about Thomas and Dora so he was hooked! He told Santa about Mickey Mouse and then smiled for his picture. His favorite part was digging in the basket to get his candy cane. He wanted to open it up immediately! For those of you who know Michael's paranoia of all things sticky you know how much the candy cane thrilled him! William was in heaven. And then it happened--- we were strolling along and he dropped the candy cane on the ground. William started sobbing! He was begging for another candy cane, but were half way across the mall at that point. Thank goodness the cookie stand was near by! Who cares about his dinner, right? Again, a cookie heals all!

A very proud boy after his Santa visit!
Daddy was thrilled by the sticky candy cane!
William still wanted to check out Santa from above.

Nice Lid!

This is a picture of William going to school this morning. He has super fine hair like me and it goes in a million directions. It's actually just like his Uncle Mike's. He fought with me this morning as I tried to wet it down! You can tell who won!

Our LONG trip to NOLA

It's been a while since I've written! William and I went to New Orleans for a wedding and the National Assoc. of Realtors conference. It was a week and a half visit and I am just finally getting back into the swing of things back at home!
The first full day we were there Meme and Papaw couldn't wait to take William to the Children's Museum. William had such a good time! He was a little cranky at first due to a short nap, but once he got comfy he had a blast! Here are some pics.

The first weekend we were there I went to St. Francisville for my friend Katherine Sins' wedding. It was a girls weekend with a group of us who worked together. Kat and Sarah still live in New Orleans. Meredith is now in Las Vegas and Megan is in Orlando. This is the first time we were all together since the hurricane. We had a lot of fun!!
Kat was a beautiful bride! She and I used to plan weddings together. We've seen it all! So, when she had her own "incidents" she just kept on going. You'll notice the picture of she and Loren and her busted zipper. The wedding and reception were perfect!

This is the house were the reception was held. Me & Kat! Katherine & Loren LeBlanc Meredith, Me, Megan & Sarah

This is the cottage where we stayed. Kat specifically chose this one for us. It was called the Dovecote. The stairs were brutal!

This is the main house of the Butler Greenwood Plantation B&B where we stayed. The setting was beautiful!

While I was away on my girls weekend. William was being spoiled by his grandparents! Meme and Papaw took him to the zoo and had a blast. William is getting very silly and found the bird poop hilarious! He HAD to ride the carousel and as you can see he loved it. He came home with LOTS of souveniers-- go figure! Here are some pics from the zoo.

William went to the Aquarium of the Americas on Sunday with Nana and Pop. He loved watching the ferry take cars across the river. William's memory is incredible. Tuesday afternoon we were driving in the car and out of the blue he says"I saw big boats." I asked him where he saw the boats and he says,"On the Mississippi water." I just chuckled. He constantly amazes me.

William and I went to visit the Ceravolo's on Monday. Michael and Mike have been friends since they were 5 years old. We love the fact that our children are so close in age. William and Elizabeth had a good time playing together. Emily and Michael had their second daughter, Ava Claire last week. Congrats!

One of my favorite visits while I was in New Orleans was with my friend, Sally. We don't get to visit very often and I was able to have dinner withSal and her daughter, Charlotte. We had dinner at her husband Russell's restaurant. Charlotte is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen! She was a real trooper staying up way past her bedtime!

Of course I couldn't go to New Orleans without going to Commander's. I went to visit and ended up doing some work! I sat at my old desk and helped Evelyn. She is flying solo since the restaurant opened and working like crazy! Hang in there Ev!

It killed Michael that we were away for so long, but the second weekend I was in New Orleans was for the Realtors convention. My business partner, Karen had never been to New Orleans and it was a lot of fun showing her the city. She fell in love with the city and was amazed by the hurricane devestation. We tooks lots of classes and learned so much about our business. The most important part of our trip was all of the eating!! We ate at The Grocery, August, Cochon, Commander's Palace, Remolade, Cafe Adelaide and of course Cafe du Monde! I get home and the first think my husband says is, "It looks like you lost weight." (He's the best!) If that's the way to do it then I'll be back to New Orleans soon!
