Happy Halloween

This was William's first halloween trick or treating. Last year he was too little. He had a lot of fun, but wouldn't say a word when we went to the door. After about 30 minutes we came back home so he could hand out the candy. He wanted to hold the big bowl and give it to all the kids. He waited by the front door and stared out the window to see if anyone was coming. We gave him 2 pieces of candy to eat and then had a melt down begging for more candy! We video taped his temper tantrum on our camera and would attach it if it didn't look so cruel! We was on the floor, kicking and crying and the whole 9 yards. Ten seconds later it was all over! Enjoy the pics!

Halloween Happenings

This week has been full of Halloween festivities. We carved William's little pumpkin on Monday. Michael told him that the inside of the pumpkin was yucky and mushy so he didn't want to touch it. However, he had to be on top of Michael watching every step! William also got a Halloween present from Meme and Pa-Paw. I tried to take some pictures of him with his goodies, but he wouldn't stop talking long enough to smile and look at the camera.

At school on Wednesday the kids planted pumpkin seeds in the garden. After their naps they went outside to find that their pumpkin seeds had grown into baby pumpkins. So again last night we were carving.

Today was the parade of costumes at school. They have been getting the kids excited all week so William was ready to put his costume this morning. As soon as we got in the car he started whinning about taking it off. Thankfully when we got to school he had changed his mind! The owner of his school took tons of pictures and they are adorable! He and another little boy named Darren were both lions and were just precious. There's also a picture of a little girl in his class, Emma Jackson. He has talked about Emma since he started at Primrose- she is the cute blonde.

Tonight we finally carved the big pumpkin. Michael carved Mickey Mouse since he is William's favorite (right now). He was so excited, but didn't like when we turned the lights off to see it glow.

Pumpkin Patch

We took William to a pumpkin patch last weekend with our friends Brian and Catrina. On the way there William started telling me that he was tired. I thought- oh great, this is going to be fun! Suprisingly, he was pretty cooperative. He helped Michael pick out the big pumpkin and a little one all his own.

The Reason for our Trip

The main reason we went to New York was to visit baby Emily! So here are some pics. Mel and Mike are doing a great job on a very small amount of sleep!

Apple Picking

The weather was absolutely beautiful in Albany! We went apple picking at Indian Ladder Farms on Saturday. All the leaves were changing colors and the mountains in the background made it a beautiful setting. Once again, Emily was such a trooper! I was surprised by home small the apple trees were. There weren't little, but I expected something much larger. We thought the little baby apples were really cute- they look more like cherries. Mike and Michael had fun trying to get the apples way up high. We pulled the apples right off the branches and chowed down. Once we filled our bags we went to the bakery. No one had eaten breakfast so we could all pig out on apple cider donuts and chocolate milk! Later that day Mike baked an apple pie and apple crisp--and then we pigged out again! (Is everyone catching on to a common theme of this trip?)

More NYC Pics

I am finally getting my camera back since I accidently left it at Mike and Mel's. Here are some more pics from our trip. The whole trip was planned around food! Here's Michael's dessert plate from Fererra's. I was in horrible pain, but managed to enjoy it-ha! They had tons and tons of petite sweets! I also have some cupcake pics from Magnolia bakery. It is this little bitty store where you help yourself and move as quickly as possible. They only let so many people in the store because it gets so crowded. The cupcakes have tons of icing and are delicious! While we were outside eating our treats there was a mom pushing a stroller with 2 littles ones walking our way. We could hear the kids shouting and begging for cupcakes. They obviously had been here before. She started real strong and said that they could get a cupcake, but eat it after dinner. By the time they walked out of the store the kids were already into the cupcakes! Mel and just laughed and enjoyed the fact that we were eating our treats in peace.
